Other Game Design • Colonization, Invasion and Annexation mechanics are inconsistent and also lead to dangerous false assumptions

I found that some inconsistencies between colonization, Annexation and Invasion mechanics are confusing and lead to false assumption (which will lead the players to learn about them the hard way)

A. With colonization you cannot colonize a planet on a system that has hostile armed ships, setting the precedent that a hostile ship can block ships from landing on planets
B. With Annexation, you cannot annex a planet that have just changed ownership, setting the precedent that you can't takeover a planet just after it got taken by an enemy

However, with invasion:
A. Troop ships can ignore all hostile ships on the system and land anyway (As long the planet's sheilds are down)
B. Troop ships can invade planets and retake planets that have just been aquired by an enemy

It's worth noting that point B is critical for whether an empire's planet can have all its building scrapped by an invader who managed to unsutainably steal a planet for a single turn or not since the empire can retake its planet via invasions before the scrapping orders are executed but can't do the same via annexation (I think empires should be able to save their building from a single turn invasion but that subject probably needs it's own thread)

On a side note, am I missing something or does the pedia lack any info about annexation (new bug thread time?)

and no, I am not side-eying someone ;P
