We compromised on Oberlus' proposal here, and it's a good compromise (he's probably right that it's better than my own proposal).
But having some Species liking/disliking particular Environments would still add some diversity to the game, so I'd suggest that we still implement those.
Like, Humans liking Oceans and disliking Toxic, Laenfa liking Swamps and disliking Tundras, Scyllor liking Terran and disliking Desert (too dry) and Swamp (too muddy for their internal filters), Chato liking Radiated and disliking Ocean,...
Make Good environment +3 instead of +2 would have two advantages : offer a way to get better Stability on some planets, and ensure that the Stability is always at least as good on a Good environment that it is on a liked one.
We could of course have some Species whose fluff explains why they dislike their natural environment, but those would be special cases.
